Our November 2007 regular meet took place in Julia Davis park and BSU campus. At first moment it seemed that rain gods would doom the day into some unpleasant experience but later in the day it turned perfect weather for some orienteering racing in the park and for the cheering Bronco crowds. Sometimes we could hear the crowd going ballistic when one of our orienteering fans passed the stadium. We definitely attribute it to bigger recognition of our sport :)

Beginner course was set as somewhat more difficult 10 control course around Julia Davis park. A number of first comers, as well as experienced ones tried it. Kayla and Leo pushed Kristin with stroller around the course in record time. Gamid blazed through his first course with very good time for second place. Jeff Hymas was not far behind. Kathy and Kari found all controls in a little bit over one hour. Cheerful Petersons finished their first course with big smiles. We hope to see you all again.

Intermediate course that was shared with advanced courses saw hot contest among our best ones. Masha narrowly won over Kristin. We have to admit that Kristin was handicapped with a very heavy stroller (at least 100 lbs). But Masha is only 12! Karin won over her dad who was visiting from sunny southern California. It was real pleasure to watch cheerful finish of the Hall's big family. Elajah (as always) pushed hard his dad to find all controls on the course.

Advanced course that consisted of two loops around campus and park explored all corners of the map but left more for future. I feel we can easily put one hour course here. It attracted our most athletic competition. Jeff won with good margin over Lee in spite of loosing about two minutes on second loop. Lee posted most even performance by finishing both loops in almost same time. Doug was leading at some point but lost time on the second loop that required running through the Bronco crowds. Assisting director Mike (thank you very much!) had some time loss on the first loop but adjusted and posted significant improvement on the second loop. Navigation among buildings takes lots of concentration! Jay posted very good time for this demanding course. Finally, Bill finished under one hour for 6.5K bee line course. Well done!
