Hello- here are the results of the club's second night-O which proved very popular with people eager to get started. I was glad to see that many orienteers actually found the meet despite our attempts to hide by changing the venue and time. Kids enjoyed the glow bracelets that we adorned them with so we could keep track of them in the dark. I was amazed at how quickly people finished the courses, these are very fast times! Hey guys- you're not supposed to be running that fast at night! The intermediate course, which had many takers this time, stayed mostly in the cultivated park area with one control that was out a little in the rough. Not surprisingly, that turned out to be the control that a few people had trouble with. Greg beat out Masha for first on that course with three groups enjoying the night and coming in a little later. The advanced course had three controls in the rocky, brushy hillside, and all participant's times were very competitive and closely spaced. Blood was spilled, but thankfully no major injuries. Andy went out on the beginner course complete with Elijah and young, maybe 3? year old daughter Rosie, who did the course on foot with her own flashlight.

To cap off the exciting evening, it was discovered that vandals (and we're not talking about the football players here) had spray painted one of our controls within a hundred yards of the finish during the course of the meet (as well as other park property). We spotted them running off and Andy managed to sneak up on them and got an amazing picture showing their faces as well as paint on their fingers! These "taggers" are probably responsible for much damage to the park over a couple of days, hopefully they will be caught with the help of Andy's picture. The evening can be summed up with the conclusion that we like Night-O! Hopefully we will be able to enjoy more of these events in the future.

Thanks to all who came and especially Jeff, Dondi, and Sergey for helping out and picking up controls; and Neal the Park Supervisor.
