Hello Everyone! The results are in for the 2007 Metrogaine. The format was 29 possible controls and a 3 hour time limit in the downtown Boise area including some of the Bench area. Proof of visiting the controls was by correctly answering a multiple choice question when at the correct location. I was expecting maybe one or two people to get all the controls within the time limit and was very surprised to have several participants complete all the controls, with Lee, Sergey, and Jay getting in well before the cutoff. Lee was first overall and had an amazing time- finishing at 2hr.13min. He said his bike odometer recorded 21 miles. Sergey was first runner, and Renee' first Woman. There were some glitches with the course setting which was done a month in advance. One of the question subjects was removed by the property owner causing one participant to knock on the door and ask the tenant, and several who asked neighbors that were out in their yards. Also a couple of the locations on the map were off by a block. Jason gets the "marathon man" award for probably running at least 26 miles in his spiral course. He didn't know about the time limit and got all the controls but unfortunately his 4 hour finish eliminated all his points. All in all everyone had a good time and we will learn from this event to make a bigger and better event next year!
