Sunny skies, warm temperatures, wildflowers everywhere, and wonderfully runnable woods -- as long as you ran fast enough to keep ahead of the mosquitoes, Bear Basin was the perfect venue for a meet! Unfortunately, turnout was quite light, with courses nearly outnumbering the attendies.

The Beginner's course was longer and more challenging than the usual beginner's course, and brought participants very up-close and personal with the wildflowers in the Bear Basin meadow (and, since wildflowers like water, up-close and personal with some pretty squishy conditions).

The Intermediate course was a significant step up from Beginner, with longer, more technical legs and more required in-the-woods navigation.

Both Short and Long Advanced were set at the same technical level of difficulty (challenging), with the Long course just being longer and gnarlier.

We reconvened Sunday for a training day. We started by recovering the club first aid box from the campsite of the transient camped up the hill from our start area. This was followed by short "Sprint" course, which was a lot of fun. We then broke up into groups of two (more experienced + less experienced) to pick up controls and practice techniques. Lots of fun.

Thanks to Karin Didisse for all the help with control placement and recovery (as well as the loan of her inflatable kayak for an after-meet trip down the upper Payette).
