This beautiful spring day at Boise Foothills attracted many scout troops and old cadre as well. Many came with their four legged friends to take a stroll on the foothill trails.

The Beginner course was laid around Hillside Junior Schools and ventured on the top of the first ridge for a single 60m climb. Not surprisingly Masha blasted through the course together with Mal'chik in excellent time. Donna and Jeff enjoyed a round of "easy" controls for the second best time. Many scout troops came with their masters to try on an orienteering course. All successfully finished the course and found all controls correctly. Dresden and James posted best time, followed by Austin, Nathan, Mike, and Bruce. Gunnar and Robert posted third best time among scouts. Grayson and Vince were forth. Finally John with girls found all controls correctly. Seems that all enjoyed the course. We hope to see you all at our meets.

The Intermediate course ventured farther in the foothills and offered a mixture of advanced first part and easy but speedy second. Jeff Decker showed good running form and finished with the best time of the day on this course. Dondi accompanied by Sage finished second. Brad and Mike took it leisurely while exploring hills. A number of groups transitioning from beginner courses to more advanced ones took the challenge and finished the course but unfortunately didn't find all controls correctly. Next time more careful execution will definitely help Jay, Busackers, Adam, and Nichols be more successful.

The Advanced course, as usual, attracted scores of our veterans. Jeff Black posted best time. Unfortunately Lee who finished first with time of 1:01:17 missed one of the last "easy" controls and had to take some extra time to finish the course for the third place. Michael with his trusty dog Oakley armed with knowledge to be careful on infamous #2 posted very good time for the second spot. Bill Leahy finished with very respectful time. Aha, Karin posted next best time to pass David, Ole, Doug, and Dan! By the way, Karin took the most optimal route while on the course. I hope she might post it later.

Thanks to all who came and enjoyed this day!
