Hi everyone, here are the results from the CTOC Ski Orienteering meet at Tamarack Resort 2/22/04. We had an absolutly gorgeous day for our inaugural event at Tamarack. The warm, bright sunshine didn't affect the perfect fast ski conditions and made for easy travel. While the turn out was small, those that did make it had a great time. Jeff turned in a respectable time on the advanced course, despite a 3.4 km. over-shooting error early in the course. Ben amazed me with a very quick ski on the intermediate course even though his dog was a bit of a hindrance, he kept biting Ben's ski tips. The Zubers made it in time to try the beginner course with their snow shoes. The firm off-trail conditions allowed most of the competitors to find a way to cut the distance somewhere in their courses, even with skate skis. Jeff generously picked up half the controls, and allowed me to ski the begginer course to pick up the remainder of the controls. Most people were on skate skis except where noted. Winners received a huckleberry chocolate bar and the title of Idaho State Ski-O champ. More photos may be seen at the following web site:
