Gold Rush A-meet and Western States Championships

Gold Rush A-meet and Western States Championships

The City of Trees Orienteering Club is pleased to announce the Gold Rush A-meet and Western States Championships, including the 2015 USA Ultra-long Championships.  This is a 3-day event that will take place June 26-28, 2015 in Boise and near Idaho City. The program includes:

  • Friday Sprint in Willow/Veterans parks, Boise, ID
  • Saturday Ultra-long in Gold Rush Hills, Idaho City, ID
  • Sunday technical Middle in Gold Rush Hills, Idaho City, ID

The Willow/Veteran’s park maps have been newly revised and detailed by Sergey Velichko, and will offer a flat, fast urban park environment with a spectator friendly start/finish area that offers plenty of nooks and crannies to keep competitors on their toes.  Gold Rush Hills is our best and most challenging map in the club inventory, mapped by Alexey Zuev (some of you likely remember it from 2009), and has a finely detailed hydromine section that will fully engage your physical and mental capacities.

Idaho City is a memorable place to visit in itself with a main street that will take you right back to the days of the Gold Rush.

Western States champions will be awarded based on a 3-day score system.  Each day includes all OUSA classes.
